St. Raphael’s Emergency Center opens for patient care
Mar 8, 2021Carondelet Health Network has opened its new St. Raphael’s Emergency Center near I-10 and Wilmot Road. The facility at 7401 S. Wilmot Rd. serves southeast Tucson residents with around-the-clock emergency care.
Carondelet St. Raphael’s Emergency Center received its first patient shortly after opening its doors on March 8. Patients with abdominal or joint pain, fractures, lacerations, shortness of breath or chest pain are examples of the types of emergencies that can be treated and stabilized at the center.
“St. Raphael’s Emergency Center offers convenient access for the nearby growing residential areas and major employment centers. We look forward to serving this community,” said Chris Tweedy, administrator for the facility.
The center includes 13 exam rooms, a procedure room and an imaging suite with x-ray, ultrasound and CT scanner. Carondelet officials noted their facilities incorporate rigorous safety standards and delaying emergency care may lead to a greater risk of complications.
Designed for safe, efficient care with a patient-friendly design in a convenient location, St. Raphael’s Emergency Center is staffed by emergency physicians and associates providing close integration with Carondelet’s hospitals for patients who may require more complex care.
“Hospitals, ERs and doctors’ offices are safe places to receive care. Waiting to go to the ER can contribute to complications and lengthier recovery times. Your health can’t wait, we are here for a healthier community,” added Doug Luckett, chief executive officer of Carondelet Health Network.
