What to Bring


Your comfort is important to us. We do everything we can to make you feel welcome and at ease during your stay at our childbirth facility at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital. You can also help ensure you’re comfortable by bringing a few personal items from home with you when you arrive:

    • Toothbrush and toothpaste
    • Hair care items (brush, shampoo, conditioner)
    • Hand/body lotion
    • Eye glasses or contacts and contact solution
    • Pajamas (hospital gowns are provided)
    • House slippers
    • Robe
    • Nursing bra or nursing pads
    • Comfort aids for labor
    • Music device
    • Snacks for your support person
    • Camera to record special moments
    • Comfortable clothing for mother and baby to go home in
    • Car seat for baby 
    • Baby blanket for baby’s ride home
What not to bring
    • Valuables like jewelry or money
Important

You will be responsible for all items you bring to the hospital. You will not be allowed to keep personal medications or administer your own drugs. For your safety, all medications prescribed by your doctor will be dispensed by our pharmacy and administered and recorded by our nursing staff.
