Get with the Guidelines
St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s Hospitals have received Gold Performance Achievement Awards from the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines” program.
Treatment of Coronary Artery Disease
The program is a hospital-based quality improvement program. It is designed to ensure that hospitals consistently care for cardiac patients using the most current scientific evidence and recommendations.
Currently 1,450 US hospitals are participating in the Get with the Guidelines program. These hospitals often report better results for their patients and a reduced number of recurring events, such as another heart attack. To receive a Gold Performance Achievement Award, a hospital must achieve 85 percent compliance with the guidelines for 24 consecutive months.
These awards demonstrate to the community our ability to provide our patients with quality cardiac care – from the moment they enter the Emergency Department, on through diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Our nurses, physicians, and clinical staff all know how to help patients return to a happy, full life following a heart attack.
