Top Performer on Key Quality Measures:
Holy Cross Hospital is listed among The Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures! Holy Cross is the only hospital in Southern Arizona and one of 1,099 U.S. hospitals to achieve the outstanding accountability measure performance required to be included in the Top Performer on Key Quality Measures program for 2013. This was based upon the 2012 data submitted for the Surgical Care Measure Set. In the state of Arizona, thirteen hospitals were recognized.

A successful Joint Commission survey with a score of 98.85 percent and a mirrored positive validation survey with CMS.
The percentage of patients “leaving without being seen” from our Emergency department has consistently met the national benchmark of 0.2 percent.
Patient satisfaction continues to be a highlight. Scores continually meet and exceed threshold in the areas of communication, responsiveness, hospital environment and pain management.
CHC received the Ascension Health ZERO award—recognizing hospitals throughout the national ministry that have experienced zero reportable adverse events in six identified categories.
This year, Diabetes Nurse Educator Gwen Gallegos was the recipient of the National Ascension Health Living the Mission and Values Award for her work with diabetic patients in Nogales.
Last month, two CHC associates were among a select group of speakers invited to share best practices at the Tucson Nurse’s Conference. They were invited specifically to educate the conference attendees on quality measures.
