Jackie Doidge, PT
Jackie has 36 years of experience, graduating from the University of Manitoba, Canada .Over the years she has worked as a registered therapist in Canada, England, Australia, South Africa and for the last 19 years has been with Carondelet both as a physical therapist and manager. She greatly enjoys treating clients with spinal complaints, and she uses her extensive post-graduate training in manual therapies, dry needling, exercise therapies, and balance in her approach to patient care. She spends her free time hiking, biking, traveling, and gardening.
Leah Walker, PT
Leah graduated from St. Louis University in 1992 with a degree in physical therapy. She has experience in a variety of settings including acute care, home health, and pediatrics before coming to outpatient orthopedics in 2001. Leah is certified in dry needling technique. She has a special interest in pitching injuries and women’s health. In her spare time, Leah enjoys cooking, traveling, and camping with her husband and daughter.
Valerie Watterson, PT, MS
Valerie Watterson graduated from Duke University with a Master of Science degree in physical therapy in 1981. She joined Carondelet in 2009 and became the Spine Center clinical coordinator in 2012. Prior to Carondelet, she was the co-owner of two successful private practice physical therapy clinics in California. She has primarily worked with sports, spine, and general orthopedic clients. She enjoys having a positive impact on her patient’s quality of life and contributing to positive lifestyle changes. She enjoys attending continuing education courses to be able to provide current and effective evidence-based patient care. Outside of work, Valerie especially enjoys dancing, hiking, biking, and spending time with family and friends.
Jeff Wortzel, PT, DPT
Jeff Wortzel graduated with a master degree in physical therapy from Northern Arizona University in 1996 and completed his doctorate of physical therapy from AT Still University in 2012. He has practiced in a variety of settings in Arizona and New Mexico including orthopedics, neurologic rehabilitation, long term care, critical care, and wound care. Currently he specializes in spine and extremity rehabilitation. Jeff mentors several physical therapy interns each year. Outside of work he enjoys chasing his identical twin boys, playing soccer, mountain and road cycling, and completing “honey-do” lists around the house. Jeff is a native Tucsonan.
Edith “Edy” Yee, Physical Therapist, Doctorate in Physical Therapy (PT, DPT)
Edy has been working as an orthopedic physical therapist since 2002. She has experience working in sports, spine, and general orthopedics. She holds a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Arizona and a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duke University. She is a certified manual therapist through the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM) and is also certified in dry needling technique. . Edy has been an avid cyclist and runner for much of her life and has pursued sports-related continuing education including bike fitting and training specifically for high level athletes.She competes in several road and mountain bike events, triathlons, and marathons.
Krystal McKinney, PT, DPT
Krystal was born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri. She attended Missouri State University where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise and Movement Science in 2010. S Krystal graduated from Midwestern University in Phoenix, Arizona obtaining her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. After an internship at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital, she moved to Tucson to join our team .. During her free time, Krystal enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with friends and family. Even though she has been in Arizona since 2010, she is still a St. Louis girl at heart. Go Cardinals!
Dena Roblee, Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Dena Roblee moved from Michigan in 2008 to join Carondelet’s rehabilitation team.. She is a PT assistant, certified in the state of Arizona with 16 years of experience. She also has national certification as a Massage Therapist with 7 years of related experience. Areas of expertise and interests are in the treatment of spinal injuries and working with clients with chronic and complex pain syndromes. Dena likes to spend her free time hiking, reading, off-roading, gardening, and painting.
Jaime Arrieta, MPH, Spine Center Navigator
Jaime Arrieta grew up in Tucson and received his degree from the University of Arizona in Community Health Education Public Health. In addition, he is a Certified Community Health Education Specialist (CHES). Jaime brings over 10 years of program development experience to Carondelet. In the past, his programing and curriculum projects have been awarded “Best Practice” by the Arizona Department of Health Services. He spends his free time mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing / mountaineering, sailing, and traveling.
Diana Gonzalez, Office Coordinator (bilingual, Spanish and English)
Diana has been working for Carondelet since 1995, starting in the Behavioral Health department, and transitioning to the Human Resources department. In 2003, she was hired by outpatient rehabilitation services as lead office coordinator and is in charge of managing the Spine Center front office. Diana has a strong customer service focus and provides a variety of support functions for the Spine Center. Raised in Nogales, Sonora Mexico, Diana loves spending time with her family and enjoys hiking and listening to music.
