Volunteering for Carondelet Hospice and Palliative Care

Carondelet Hospice and Palliative Care serves adults with a limited life expectancy whose care goals are focused on comfort. We serve patients and their families in the greater Tucson area, Green Valley, and Santa Cruz County with teams of physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, counselors, home health aides and volunteers.

Hospital Volunteer Program:

We appreciate your interest in hospital volunteer opportunities at Carondelet Health Network. Volunteering at one of our hospitals can be a rewarding experience, and it is just one of the ways you can make a difference in the lives of others. With the guidance of the Volunteer staff, volunteers work a set weekly schedule.

Begin the application process by reviewing the following Volunteer requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Agree to volunteer for a minimum of one hundred hours in a one year period.
  • Complete the online volunteer application.
  • Be willing to provide two letters of reference (please no relatives).
  • Interview with Volunteer supervisor.
  • Pass a criminal background check. 
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) and chickenpox.
  • Be willing to receive an annual tuberculosis (TB) screening. 
  • Be willing to receive an annual flu vaccination.
  • Follow through with an orientation and any additional training your placement may require.
  • Obtain picture ID badge.
  • Purchase Volunteer Uniform.
  • Adhere to Carondelet annual policies and procedures refresher course.

Upon successful completion of the process you will be placed in a volunteer assignment.
