INTERSTATE 10 WIDENING

Update - 08/29/07

The Arizona Department is announcing the following closures due to some unexpected extraction work on the I-10 Prince Road to 29th Street widening project. The work involves the removal of the old foundations of the bridges. Below is the adjusted schedule:
  • St. Mary’s Road at I-10 is scheduled to close on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, and Wednesday, August 29, 2007, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
  • 22nd Street at I-10 is scheduled to close on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, and Thursday, August 30, 2007, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
  • Congress Street is scheduled to have one lane closed in each direction beginning Thursday, August 30, 2007, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Thank you for your patience during these unscheduled closures.

Prince to 29th Street

Starting June 15, the Interstate 10 Widening Project will start closing all on and off ramps between Prince Road and 29th Street. This is expected to take about three weeks. You will be able to travel on I-10 but you will not be able to exit between Prince Road and 29th Street. During construction, three frontage road lanes will be available to reach destinations. If your destination is between 29th and Prince, you will need to exit the freeway and take the frontage road to your destination. Major cross streets will be open in that area, although there may be temporary closures as the project continues.

Information will be distributed throughout the construction period as soon as we have updates.
