Mission Statement

We, the staff of St. Joseph’s Women and Infant Services, pledge to offer compassionate, competent care to our patients and to support the health and wellness of our clients. Our programs and services are provided as part of a family-centered program.

Our goals are:

• to offer a safe, warm and welcoming atmosphere where parents-to-be can give birth and learn the parenting skills needed to care for their newborn.
• to offer a full spectrum of parenting and childbirth educational classes.
• to provide a safe and comfortable birth, respecting the wishes of the mother.
• to make childbirth services readily available to childbearing women of all ages.
• to maintain the highest community and national standards to meet the needs of all cultural populations.

When you have your baby at St. Joseph's, you can take comfort in the fact that the very latest technology is available along with a team of top specialists including anesthesiologists, neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and perinatologists. Our staff members are extensively trained in all aspects of caring for you and your baby to ensure safety and comfort. We also offer the latest anesthesia options, including epidurals.

After your delivery you will receive special mother and baby care instruction. Additional infant care education will be available on a one-to-one basis. A breastfeeding support team can also provide individualized assistance on request. Follow-up breastfeeding support is also available through our outpatient Breastfeeding Support Center, staffed by certified lactation consultants, by calling 873-3187.
