As Chief Nursing Officer, Knapheide will be responsible for overseeing the clinical care provided to patients by nursing staff. She will also work with fellow administrators to manage all aspects of hospital operations on a day-to-day basis.
&amp;nbsp;
Knapheide brings the community of Nogales a wealth of experience in healthcare &amp;ndash; both domestic and international. <description>Carondelet St. Mary&amp;rsquo;s Hospital has added a seasoned healthcare veteran to its administrative team. Roberta &amp;ldquo;Berta&amp;rdquo; Kaemmerling has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer for the hospital.

Kaemmerling brings 25 years experience to this critical role. She will serve as a key leader in charge of staffing, training and operations on the west side campus. She has formerly held roles as an acute care nurse, a service line executive for surgical and cardiovascular services, and as Chief Nursing Officer in not-for-profit and for-profit acute care hospitals.

Kaemmerling also served as a Naval Reserve Officer and was on active duty on the USNS Mercy during Desert Storm. She was selected to be a member of Sigma Theta Tau, National Nursing Honorary. <title>Carondelet Health Network Proud Sponsor of Sierra Vista Health Fair 2010</title>
    <link>http://carondelet.org/home/about-carondelet/newsroom/news-articles/articletype/articleview/articleid/17/carondelet-health-network-proud-sponsor-of-sierra-vista-health-fair-2010.aspx</link>
    <description>Carondelet Health Network is a proud sponsor of Sierra Vista&amp;rsquo;s Health Fair 2010, planned for this Saturday, June 19, at Buena High School. The public health and wellness event takes place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Carondelet&amp;rsquo;s outreach and education experts will be among dozens of agencies sharing important health information, screenings and assessments for community members.
&amp;nbsp;
Representatives from Tucson Heart Hospital, a member of Carondelet Health Network and the region&amp;rsquo;s only free-standing facility dedicated to cardiac and vascular care, will be providing FREE risk assessments for health fair participants. These risk assessments help evaluate a person&amp;rsquo;s potential for cardiac problems. They can also lead to important lifestyle changes and, if needed, further discussion and treatment by a physician.
&amp;nbsp;
Carondelet will also share information about Carondelet Neurological Institute, one of the nation&amp;rsquo;s premiere healthcare facilities dedicated to treating neurological illnesses and injuries. Carondelet Neurological Institute opened in 2009 with some of the world&amp;rsquo;s finest technology. Doctors from as far away as Australia have traveled to Tucson to see the Institute&amp;rsquo;s &amp;ldquo;operating rooms of the future,&amp;rdquo; equipped with BrainSUITE iCT for image-guided surgery, in use.
&amp;nbsp;
Participants in Saturday&amp;rsquo;s Health Fair 2010 can learn more about the various programs in place at Carondelet Neurological Institute, including the following: specialized outpatient treatment for brain and spine tumors using stereotactic radiosurgery; a dedicated Spine Center; Southern Arizona&amp;rsquo;s only Balance Center; programs for treating epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson&amp;rsquo;s Disease and Alzheimer&amp;rsquo;s Disease; and one of only two Joint Commission-accredited Primary Stroke Centers in Southern Arizona.

In April, Carondelet Health Network and Sierra Vista Regional Health Center entered into an Integrative Network Agreement in an effort to increase access to needed services for residents of southeastern Arizona.
&amp;nbsp;
Sierra Vista Regional Health Center and the Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce are the major sponsors of Health Fair 2010.</description>

    <title>Access to Quick, Quality Medical Care Increases for Southern Arizonans</title>
    <link>http://carondelet.org/home/about-carondelet/newsroom/news-articles/articletype/articleview/articleid/18/access-to-quick-quality-medical-care-increases-for-southern-arizonans.aspx</link>
    <description>If you have minor injuries, nagging aches and pains, or just feel under the weather, Carondelet Health Network has made seeking medical attention faster and easier. The Carondelet Medical Group has opened two walk-in clinics in convenient locations -- one on Tucson&amp;rsquo;s west side and one in Sahuarita. These walk-in clinics offer easy-to-access care for non-emergency illnesses or injuries without the need for an appointment.
&amp;nbsp;
Three physicians: Michael Beals, DO, Richard L. Klassen, MD, and Moira Shannon, MD and a number of other healthcare providers will serve the needs of patients in both locations on a rotating basis. &amp;ldquo;Our goal is to see patients quickly, efficiently and correctly,&amp;rdquo; says Dr. Beals, who wants to be sure the walk-in clinics leave patients with a positive experience. &amp;ldquo;That has always been my vision. We can be something different, a part of the solution to the healthcare delivery system in the Tucson area,&amp;rdquo; he said. &amp;ldquo;We will make sure patients&amp;rsquo; concerns are addressed and try to make them smile before they leave.&amp;rdquo;
&amp;nbsp;
Beals said a visit to a walk-in clinic is an ideal &amp;ldquo;stop gap&amp;rdquo; if you are hurt or ill, but can&amp;rsquo;t see your regular primary care doctor right away. After a clinic visit, physicians encourage patients to follow-up with their regular doctors for continued care. If the patient does not have a primary care provider, the staff can suggest a Carondelet Medical Group physician who is accepting new patients in their area.
&amp;nbsp;
The Carondelet Medical Group clinics are clearly focused on high quality care and prompt service. &amp;ldquo;If you&amp;rsquo;re not doing better, give us a call. We can often take care of some issues over the phone,&amp;rdquo; Beals adds. The clinics are also organized to reduce wait times for patients. If there is a wait of an hour or more, front office staff will take a patient&amp;rsquo;s phone number and call them 15 minutes before they can be seen.
