Carondelet Health Network welcomes Mary Henrikson, MN, BSN, NP as Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital. Henrikson joined Carondelet Dec. 19 and has settled nicely into her new home at the Network’s tertiary facility on Tucson’s eastside.
Henrikson comes to Carondelet after 11 years in San Diego, Calif. where she was Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns. In addition, Sharp HealthCare received the 2007 Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award and the state-level equivalent of the Baldridge Award for California. Prior to assuming the hospital’s top leadership role in 2006, Mary was Chief Operating Officer at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns.

Henrikson’s other past roles include three years at Chicago’s Northwestern Hospital where she was Director of Prentice Women’s Hospital and seven years at Salem Hospital in Salem, Ore., where she served as a Director of Nursing from 1990 to 1997. She was also a Captain in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash. Henrikson earned her BSN at Montana State University in Bozeman, her Masters of Nursing at the University of Washington, and her Nurse Practitioner’s degree from Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Calif.

Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital, established in 1961, is home to Carondelet Neurological Institute, Carondelet Women’s Care, well-established cardiac, pulmonary and neuro rehabilitation programs, and the Network’s robust robotic surgery program.

Mary assumes this role from Odette Bolano, RN, MHA, FACHE, who was named Chief Operating Officer of Carondelet Health Network last summer.
