Carondelet Foundation Hires John Gimmler as Senior Major Gifts Director
Carondelet Foundation has hired John Gimmler to serve as Senior Major Gifts Director. In his new role, Gimmler will help guide Foundation fundraising and development, and will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors to Carondelet Foundation.

The mission of Carondelet Foundation is to engage the Tucson and Southern Arizona communities in philanthropy to support the vital work of Carondelet Health Network. Carondelet is the only faith-based, non-profit healthcare system in Southern Arizona. It serves a population of 1.5 million with four hospitals, 20 primary and specialty care practices, two ambulatory surgery centers, four imaging centers, Hospice and Palliative Care, and a variety of other outpatient services.

Prior to this appointment, Gimmler had served since 2008 as a development consultant with Carondelet Foundation. “John Gimmler has already developed strong and positive relationships with the Foundation Board of Trustees, the Carondelet Health Network executive team and key Foundation constituencies,” said Carondelet Foundation CEO Richard F. Imwalle. “We are pleased to welcome him as an associate and look forward to his continued leadership in bringing increased philanthropic support to Carondelet.”

Throughout his career, Gimmler has directed nearly 100 capital campaigns and major gift programs on local, statewide, national and international levels. He has helped raise more than one billion dollars for a wide variety of non-profit organizations. A career highlight includes his service as International Executive Director of Rotary International’s PolioPlus Campaign, which raised $250M to help eradicate polio in developing countries worldwide.

A native of New York, Gimmler received his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University.
